Let's get back on track...After this weekend.

Pamilia,
As some of you know, Liza, Cindy and I have experienced the loss of a dear friend 2 weeks ago. That said, I haven't been keeping track of our progress.

I plan on getting things back on track after this weekend, when some of us re-unite in Philly for Liza's nuptials.

I also plan on getting some of us really fat again by taking you to my favorite food spots in the City of Brotherly Love.

Since Jonathan worked really hard to lose the 5lbs needed to fit into his skinny jeans, he's the winner of the Google T-Shirt and iTunes gift card. Congrats homie!!!!! Please tell me your size and I will have it shipped to you.

Skinny Jeans vs. Baggy Pants

WINNER = Skinny Jeans.

I am proud to announce, my nephew, Jonathan Tapan has lost 5 lbs since the Tapan Family Challenge started and can now rock out in his Skinny Jeans. Way to go Jonathan!

SMF ---> EWR

Krystle's coming to the EAST COAST. That's right, KT's coming. It's about time you West Coast Tapans visited the East Coasters....KT's flying into New York, spending a day in NYC then trekking down to Philly for the wedding...get your tickets folks, we're going to have a food-fest, east coast style. Places I plan on taking us to eat:

Drumroll Please! Yvonne's first post by way of Ed

Where's the motivation?

While Cindy and Ed are striving towards their goal....Cleansing Shmeansing (WHATEVER!)  Yoga Shmoga!  What?! No meat?!

I on the other hand have gained 3 lbs.  I blame it all on the creation of Passion Iced Tea, co-workers having chocolate covered almonds on their desk and Ralph's selling two Dreyer's ice cream for a good deal. Oh wait, of course the weekend BBQ's!

Yeah, yeah, we need to be motivated, we need to try new things, we need to think positive and feel good, feel healthy...blah, blah, blah....I think filling up my cup is the solution.  CHEERS!

Say Ommmmmmm

I spent the weekend at a yoga ashram, where the diet is 100 percent vegetarian. That's right: no meat. There's actually quite a bit of variety in the cooking, when you know how to do it. I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed the food so much. Though it was only 4 meals, I didn't miss meat at all.

However, I did not fare so well on the caffeine-free front. I got a terrible withdrawal headache in the middle of the day Saturday...and that made the whole yoga-and-meditation cycle difficult to enjoy. And in case you are wondering, the schedule is pretty rigorous. It's 5:30 am wakeup, followed by two hours of meditation, followed by two hours of yoga, and so on and so on.

Even if you've never done a single yoga pose, or cannot touch your toes - I highly recommend visiting an ashram at some point. It's very rejuvenating and good for your soul.

Have a good week everyone!

I'm coming CLEAN

Per Cin's post, yes I'm cleansing. And I'll share with you my weight at weigh-in: 182 lbs.
I'm using ISAGENIX. It'll be my 3rd time cleansing. The first time I lost 15 lbs. I'm also running more and doing yoga 2 days a week...hopefully I'll be 12 lbs lighter and bendier than Mr. Plastic.
